Holiday Faire was a lot of fun. I arrived at 8:30 am and helped a couple of people set up. Sammy (
spikywheel's son) was adorable. He did get cranky around the end of the day but well, you get cranky when you don't have a nap around that age. So not a big deal to me.
I ended up getting some silk thread in a bunch of different colors from
fabricdragon and some lovely white wool from
chargirlgenius. I'm thinking maybe a 1530's Italian out of the white wool with pink silk ribbons?
I just wore my favorite Italian dress to it. It's black with a red floral design out of heavy weight synthetic brocade. Not authentic but the fit is perfect and it's not glaringly unperiod...unlike my cloak. :-) I love that cloak. The outside is fine; brushed cotton in faded black. it's the lining. I wanted a cloak like they have at the MD Renn Faire, with the whimsical fabric on the inside and normal, plain fabric on the outside. The inside fabric? Very silly celestial cartoony flannel. :-) They ummm...had celestial patterns in the Renaissance. Umm...yeah! :-D
Today, I stayed over at Mom & Dad's most of the day. Ginsie didn't mind in the least. I think she wanted to stay. We'll head back over on Wednesday to help with Thanksgiving prep and then go down the NC on Friday. Not that Ginsie is that good of a cook but she's one heck of a taster and dish washer! :-)
