I asked over on Ravelry but I'll ask the LJ braintrust as well - do y'all
know of any good roving to give a 3 year old who wants to hand spin yarn
like his aunt?

Marxer loved watching Aunt Sissy do things like sew, knit, and spin. He
thought spinning was completely and totally awesome. (His exact phrase was,
"That's so cool Aunt Sissy!") I told him I have an extra spindle at home
that he can play with and I'd bring it for him. Although I think he'll
just use it as a spinning top more than anything else -which is fine- I'm
trying to figure out what roving would be easy for a 3 year old to grab and
make "yarn".

I'm going to try and teach him crochet next because that is easy and
something I learned at his age. He might actually make things with that.
Like necklaces for his Mom. ;-)

Three embroideries left on the semi secret project! Woohoo! My nephew will be so happy when I've "fixed" it. :-D

Now, I was planning on wearing the semi secret project this Saturday -regardless of whether or not that is possible- I'm not sure I can get to the Atlantian 30 year now. I want go, badly, but a more pressing matter has come up.

Mom and Dad bought tickets to a Navy football game that is this Saturday. My brother and SIL are moving into their new home (hopefully) this Saturday. Which means...no one to watch the munchkins.

I'm thinking of taking them but that would mean no SCA or Renn Fest either on Saturday. If it was just the 3 year old, I'd make his parents sign the papers and take him but it's the almost 1 year old too and...yeah. I can't watch both by myself and still get to do a couple of things I want. (With the 3 year old, you just need to bring it down to his level. It's pretty easy. The almost 1 year old...he's still in the "let's see what this tastes like!" stage...)

So... It's not like I won't have a chance to wear the semi secret project again but it was sort of very much in the theme of one of the contests. However, I may also not have to watch the kids since they may not being moving this weekend. (long story) I'll try and finish the project, just in case, but I'm also trying to not be disappointed if that doesn't happen... at least I can play with nephews instead!
