That's kinda what I thought. I've read some of the research on apron dresses and the like. I find it amusing that some people think that over a 300 or so year span the clothing didn't change and, someone, was exactly the same all over northern Europe. It changed. It looked different from region to region. But these dresses looked more like some of the research I've read in regards to the later dresses in the southern Norway/Sweden...or at least the speculation on them.

I've heard some rumors of very early peoples mixing the plaids but I think they learned quickly...it just doesn't work.
