She's on potassium bromide right now. It has worked for the past three years rather well -she was down to two seizures a year. However, she's had four or five this year which is starting to worry me. Granted, two were most likely because she wasn't given her medication at the kennel she was at (I left her with the vet but she had two seizures, one within 24 hours of the other, when my Mom brought her home. I was still on vacation when it happened.)

I doubt I'll be able to wean her off her meds. Unfortunately, her epilepsy is due to trauma when she was a pup (badly abused). But I will look into getting her meds switched to phenobarb. I'd much rather try another medication than have the seizures come more and more frequently...not that every two or three months is that frequent but still.
