MDRF Pictures

I figured a few of you might want some pictures to get an idea of what the Maryland Renaissance Festival looks like. All the photos are up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jubileel/sets/72157606936513443/

I promise to take more costumy photos next time. This time, I mainly focused on the architecture, the light/color balance, and a couple of really really bad.

Thank you for sharing the pics. I am curious what the costumed people look like, as most of the people I am seeing here are obviously customers, except for a few.

I'll take some of the costume people through out the season. The costumes tend to get better through out the season since it's warm in the beginning (90 f) and can get down right cold (I've seen snow!) by the end on Oct.

Next weekend will be the one that I break from the norm and go fantastical. The only reason is that the theme is "Magic Weekend" so it should get really silly. I'm going to wear my "fairy" gown, the Just Breathe Ever After gown, and then Bellatrix. :-) I love three day weekends. I'll go back to normal semi-historical to historical the weekend after that...

You found the cheerleader fairy!!

Hehehe...I saw a bunch of faires this weekend. I was expecting to see them until next weekend.

Nice shots! I was reminded of the last time we went to the Sterling Forest Renaissance Faire, many many years ago. :)

Apparently, I have a twin at Sterling. I need to look into this...

I will be at sterling Monday, do you happen to know her name?

[identity profile] isabelladangelo.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 12:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, no. I thought Sterling was over? It was KJ of KJ Craftworks (hairsticks) that told me about this twin that I didn't know about. I also know of one in West VA that works at a Starbucks....

It was a pleasure meeting you this weekend.
Mind if I add you to my friends list?

Nope, not at all. Just as a warning though, almost everything is about my dog, Miss Ginsie, or about purtty costumes. :-)

Those pics are wonderful, thanks for sharing. That faire reminds me of the one there was in Ontario a few years back. Looks like I might have to make a family trip down there one year :)

Maryland and the Ontario faire were owned by the same company before Ontario closed.

Come on down! It's actually going to cool down a lot in the coming weeks. I'm predicting snow by the end of the season. (By snow, I mean snow flakes falling. Not actual accumulation on the ground.)

I love the set up, great pictures. Can I just say that wow. Wow - wings shouldn't be worn in public with really small skirts and your bra. Not even at a Ren Fair.

[identity profile] isabelladangelo.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Yeah, it was just so wrong that everyone at the faire was talking about her. Wings, okay. Socks, fine. But wearing your bikini with a tutu? Even the Renn Fest has standards....

[identity profile] sarahnucci.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking - gees - the Renn Fest I went to last year was probably the most random collection of clothing - people get away with the most random stuff (which is saying a lot since I live in Vegas) but that was worthy of pictures, and shock!
