Tea Dress!

The Tea Dress hit a minor snag. The bodice to the tea dress looks *gorgeous* on but the skirt is way too puffy. I'm going to cut it down, a lot, and then resew it back together. Other than that, it's fine. It's really just very...puffy. And that makes it look wrong.

When it's completely done, I'm calling it Orange Blossom. :-) I should finish up with it tomorrow and then finish up on a jacket.

Ignore the corset beneath the dress. I won't be wearing that one.

I might also do a really quick Liberty style dress. I have an extant 1880's (????) "prairie" dress that I really don't think is a prairie dress (the sleeves, pocket, and collar are all black silk). Anyway, no matter what it is, it's old. I tried it on and it's meant for a very petite lady with my "width" measurements. If I was a good foot shorter, it would fit perfectly. :-)

Since it's such a simple dress (and since I have severe forms of CADD), I'm going to take some red silk and some of the black embroidered linen I have and try to make something similar. I think with bloomers peaking out, it would be so cute for Steampunk.

I love it! It's going to be a huge hit!

:-D Thanks! I'm thinking of taking the rest of the orange silk I have to make a camisole out of and wear that beneath it. I'm just not entirely sure how that will look...

I am in awe of how quickly you push out these beautiful dresses. I can't wait to see it

Lol! Thanks! Hopefully I'll wear it Friday afternoon when I get there in time for some people watching.
