That dress I want that I mentioned in my last post

This is the gown from the Elizabeth: The Golden Age trailer that I want. I know it has next to no basis in history but its pretty and I *need* pretty.

From Elizabeth the Golden Age

It looks like she has a big bow on her lap, embroidered in gold? The dress is probably moire silk in pale blue. The gown doesn't look to have straps and the partlet/sleeves are most likely organza. Maybe I'll add pink and blue "puffed" straps to the gown just so it will be less of a snark target?

Darlin', you would be pretty in a croaker sack and torn sneakers.

Maybe you could turn the bow into a guard down the middle of the skirt, add straps to the bodice, and toss some opaque sleeves with sheer oversleeves on there. Oooh, and use blue silk taffeta instead of moire silk. And if you turn the bow into a guard, then you can split the skirt for greater wearability (skirt open + forepart, skirt closed w/ hooks or ties).

I guess I'm trying to guide you to an "inspired by" version of the gown.
Though this one is damned pretty.

It's a pity it isn't an early Tudor gown, since you sometimes see fairly wide sashes with those.

That's actually kinda what I was thinking. Take the "bow" and make it into wide strips of gold embroidered trim on either side. The top part of the bow could be a peplum (like on the doublets of the time) if I really wanted to keep the gold fringe.
I know they had lots of smaller bows during the Elizabethan age on either side of the forepart but I haven't seen a big bow like this one and I have no idea where the costumer got her inspiration for it. However, I love light blue and this is just too pretty with some tweaking!
