Magic Weekend @ MDRF costume ideas

Yes, I'm going as Bellatrix. The people have spoken. :-)

While looking through padawansguide's photos of Bellatrix, I noticed something in this photo. If you look at the shoulder ties, they look purple. Very purple. This gave me an idea since I hate wearing straight black. I love a lot of black but paired with another accent color like red or purple. :-)

At this point, I'm thinking maybe this for the underlayer with some sort of sheer black (maybe two way black and purple if I can find it) over this and add silver accents. The corset will be out of black leather. I can get that pretty easily. Anyway, this is a post Pennsic project.

I just hope that I get it done in time. And to figure out how to get my hair to hold a curl like that....hmmm...

Have you tried rag curling? You can get very tight curls that way, especially if you use small (1-2" sections) of hair and use a stiff mousse on your damp hair. Just a thought...

I might try the mousse on my hair. Thanks! The problem isn't getting my hair to curl (It's actually VERY curly when I get out of the shower), it's getting the curl to stay for more than an hour. My hair and gravity are good friends.

Yes I want to, although I'm not sure what weekend. I think you said you are going a couple of times, right? I'll see when bauhausfrau, jehanni and padawansguide are going. Any weekend you won't be there? :>

I'll probably be there every weekend at this point (I normally am). There are a couple of weekends I'm not sure about but, for the most part, I'll be there. As it gets closer, I'll see about setting up something under midatlancostume about MDRF and all the nonsense fun that goes on there. :-D
