1. If at all possible restrain the trim with glue, zigzag machine basting, hand basting, or all three before sewing it down. 2. For future reference, the easiest approach to decorating a bodice is often to mark the outline of the pieces on fabric, embellish, and then cut and sew-- but you've probably worked that out on your own by now :-)
I second florentinescot's suggestion to open the seam and tuck the ends in. You will still need to find a way to stop the trim fraying though, because it will continue to fray right through the seam eventually.
