Another quick post
Jun. 1st, 2010 09:40 amI gave up on hand sewing the aqua dress and machine sewed most of it. It's *gorgeous* and I can't wait to take pictures of it. The dress is done in the 1500's Venetian style. It has a rounded neckline but the high bust line. I'm going to add the raspberry pink velvet trim to the neckline and possibly add some gauntlets for the dress. The silk I used is very light weight (great for Pennsic!) so if I do go through with gauntlets, I'm going to have to use something to line them with...not that I need them really.
I do have a bit of the fabric left over from the dress. I'm thinking possibly a new pair of 18th c stays to make up for my really really atrocious ones. Aqua silk with pink stitching and pink silk binding?
In the "I must make this dress someday!" pile: http://www.bustledress.com/aab/sold/item.pics/0005-20090207-01.1.jpg
:-D That's all.
