No renn faire for me today but...
Aug. 28th, 2010 09:28 am...my brothers all want to go (and my sister in law, and my nephew, and my Mom....we are working on Dad) and, for the most part, they want to go dressed up with their absolutely favorite (and only) sister. Randy wants a hat. Joey wants a new Viking outfit. Lee, well, when he see the others dressed up, he MIGHT be convinced into something. Probably just a hat. Marxer is getting a pirate outfit. Mom has her garb... So I'm thinking Jeannie needs an outfit too....
Jeannie is about 7 months along so I was thinking maybe a houppelande gown? I have some sage green fabric that I really don't know what to do with (cabbage rose design) that would be fine for the Renn Fest (H/A, not so much). I could make it with hanging sleeves and the loose design should work well.
The other design choice would be an Elizabethan loose gown with detachable sleeves and a Spanish surcote over it. I would need a different fabric (I have enough of the blue stuff still that I can just dye some of it and make a green loose gown with a blue surcote or something like that) but I'm not sure which would be better for her...and I want to keep it a surprise.
