Sewing update!

The new smock is almost done (I jsut need to add neck gussets, gather the neck, and attach the collar. It really is hemmed and everything already.), the new stays are almost done (I figured when the bobbin ran out of thread last night, it was time to go to bed), and I at least found the fabric I want to use for the new doublet. The jacket I was going to wear for my Elizabethan just doesn't look right with the surcote and petticoat. It's too pale against those two items so....I need a doublet of course!

I also really want to change the trim on my pink and green gown...again. I LOVE the way the skirt looks and then I see the bodice... I think all I want to do is rip the zone front look off, keep the neck trim, and add trim to the waistline to the skirt trim. I'm not sure yet but it is likely to change before Saturday....

Did you realize it's Straw Hat Month? I think we need to celebrate this before it's over. I'm bringing a couple of straw hats to costume con but I might bring more....
