It's the first time I've been to an SCA event this year and I was very honestly impressed by the organization of it. Not that there weren't hiccups, but that people worked around the hiccups and figured out solutions.
I had a class to teach at 10 am. For those that haven't been to SCA events, most classes taught before noon get hardly any attention -it's sort of the 8 am on a Saturday in college like slot. I was very pleasantly surprised that I had three actual people show up. On time. I did have fun teaching the class and Ginsie just sort of laid down and was very content to stay under the shade.
I wore my Elizabethan (the same one as Costume Con) which a lot of people seemed to like. The fabric for the surcote "sparkled" in the sunlight. (hehehe...I sparkled!) I did wear my coif but I need to fix it.
I enjoyed seeing everyone today and meeting a lot of new people. I'm sorry I had to leave around 2 but Ginsie was getting overheated and I did not want that to trigger a seizure. She was fine after about a half hour in the car with the A/C. I just freaked because she is wearing a fur coat, she was in the sun a LOT today, and she was clearly pretty tired. Given she had a seizure last Friday night, I didn't want to chance it.
Now, back to sewing...
