Happy Father's Day!

I went to see Dad today and he mentioned how he'd like to go to Williamsburg with me if it weren't for this whole work thing he has. I laughed at him and told him I'd force him to dress up too. Dad actually said he wouldn't mind that so maybe next year I'll be going crazy over waistcoats and men's shirts? I have the patterns...

I did get a lot accomplished today even if nothing is finished. I worked on my pink and tan stripy linen dress. It will be finished tomorrow. I also created a new pattern for me to fit over my pretty stays. The ugly stays have had it. Actually, the had it a long time before now but now they are really dead.

Anyway, the new pattern fits over the pretty stays so I'll be wearing those all weekend. I just need to finish the stripy dress, get to work on my round gown, and then I can probably work on my jacket in the car as long as it's cut out. Although, I might be able to finish it here.

For the tavern dinner, I'm probably just going to wear the pink and green dress again. I'll change up the trim but I just do not have time to make something new and that's pretty enough.

Agh!

I swear if I ever hear Pachelbel's canon after today, I will scream bloody murder. I have been on hold with Orbitz for an hour. This is disgusting.

What happened was I called up Williamsburg to make the Ghost tour reservations (I got them, btw Katherine). The lady asked me if I was staying at one of the area hotels so I could just pick up the tickets at my front desk. I told her which one and she said that that reservation had been canceled back in May. 0_o?

I call up the hotel and, yeap, it was canceled the day after the reservation was made. I know my parents didn't cancel it so I have NO idea what has happened. The gentleman who had to deal with me was completely awesome and managed to get me a new reservation. Same deal as before but $2 cheaper. Okay, fine.

Well, Dad booked through Orbitz and Nadia from New Delhi has had me on hold for the past forty five minutes. I just hear stupid Pachelbel's canon over and over. She didn't seem to grasp what I was upset about. Um, hello? The reservation we booked through you is GONE according to the Williamsburg system. What is there not to get? (I explained we booked it back in May and she thought I had stayed there back in May and wanted to go back this weekend. 0_o?)

So, I've been dealing with this for the past two hours. I really just want to sew but I can't because I'm on hold...with freakin' Pachelbel's canon playing over and over...

Sewing Update!

So after the "OMG! What do you mean I don't have reservations?!?" episode that lasted from about 5 pm until 8 pm this evening, I did get some sewing done. Oh, and I do have reservations now. I am never -ever- using Orbitz again and I'm telling Dad to never use them either. It was horrible.

Anyway, my latest dress!



I got that done and took apart the dress that I made *years* ago that I've been wanting to remake into a jacket. I'll do that tomorrow and I've been thinking about making this jacket as well since I already have a red and white striped petticoat but I might just make another round gown.
