I saw it! It does exist!

The "s" word is in the forecast for Nov 14!!!!!    Okay, so it just says am flurries but still!   SNOWSNOWSNOWSNOWSNOW!  

I guess this means I probably should work on my winter coat at some point....

Ballgown materials, assemble!

I really wanted a black and pink gown but I have 5 yards of white silk taffeta in the stash so, gotta use that.   I also have 20 (I think) yards of thin purple velvet ribbon, 15 yards of 1" wide black lace, 6 1/2 yards of the wide black lace, purple paper roses and a yard or so of the purple silk for trim.   I guess my dress will be white and purple instead!  This is all for the 1860's ball gown I should be working on right now.   :-)

The inspiration is from the pink and black gown above. I hope I have enough ribbon for the bottom of the skirt! I might end up doing something slightly different, trim wise, hence the purple silk for a back up plan.
