After reading the posts by
sarahbellem the past couple of days on music I thought it might be nice to just randomly choose five songs that you think everyone else on your f-list might not know (yet) or might not think you like. You can choose more if you like. I'd kinda like to see what other music is out there. :-)
1. Mew- Zookeeper's Boy I'm not sure how many people have heard this one. It's very "flowy" for lack of a better word.
2. Tarkan -Simarik It's Turkish. I randomly stumbled over his music a couple of years ago and quickly bought his cd after that. All of his songs that I have heard are really good (and the translations are pretty funny in a couple of cases).
3. Natacha Atlas- Eye of the Duck I'm sorry I couldn't find any other video that has this song. This is one of my favorites on her cd. It was just a cd I found while rummaging around the bookstore.
4. Beausoleil - Conja There isn't a video of this one but the link should take you to a sample of the music.
5. Bejamin Britten - Saint Nicolas My college choir preformed this piece back in 2000. It's a beautiful piece of choir music. Unfortunately, again, just samples of the music is avaliable and not a video or the full song. Sorry!
And just for St Paddy's Day fun:
I sang McNamara's Band with my choir at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland in Baltimore. We LOVED this song...we even had kazoos to make the intermission sounds.
