Maybe you could turn the bow into a guard down the middle of the skirt, add straps to the bodice, and toss some opaque sleeves with sheer oversleeves on there. Oooh, and use blue silk taffeta instead of moire silk. And if you turn the bow into a guard, then you can split the skirt for greater wearability (skirt open + forepart, skirt closed w/ hooks or ties).

I guess I'm trying to guide you to an "inspired by" version of the gown.
Though this one is damned pretty.

It's a pity it isn't an early Tudor gown, since you sometimes see fairly wide sashes with those.
