Was going to post pictures but...

my computer refuses to talk to my camera.
I have a new member to my (pet) family. He is a Betta fish and his name is Barbarossa. He's a mostly pretty blue Betta with a bottom red fin (hence the name. Pirate? What pirate? You mean the one my ancestors were suppositly aligned with? Huh?) and he seems to be adapting to his new environment pretty well.
My SIL wanted Betta's as the centerpieces at the reception so...a bunch of us took 'em to new homes. Mrs. Gigi's (one of our family friends) is named Cobalt.
I did cut out the rest of the Scottish Italian Courtesan gown today. I think I might use my black velvet with faux pearl and gold roping on it trim for this gown. The gown is linen. It is cut in a period style. The gown, itself, is perfectly 1560's Florentine...it's the matching plaid underskirt that will scare people. However, I can always switch out the skirt for a different one (jacquard? maybe satin?) and have the entire outfit be perfectly period....well minus the machine sewing part. There really is little I can do about that because there is no way I'm going to do massive amounts of hand sewing on this one.
Also, the spider scarers that you plug into your wall? last for only a year.... I've been killing spiders once a day for the past week! I hate spiders! (My house almost perfectly backs up to the woods. Also, the shed is really way too close to the house and I don't think that helps the bug problem either.)
