Renn Fest Opening Weekend

Saturday did not go as I expected but it did go as I needed. I, originally, wasn't going to be at the Renn Fest at all on Saturday. Plans got changed and I decided my best option was just to sit around, probably sulk, in Revel Grove.
Sulk was probably the only thing I did not do. I met up with almost everyone at the Dragon's Inn (Prax, Lumpy, Sestree, Pyllgrum, and a few dozen others) and just hung out there for an hour talking. I met Kerri and, seeing as we were both by ourselves, we decided to hang out the rest of the day together, which was great!
I went into Tall Hat Toad to check out the smooth velvet Elizabethan Tall Hats. I was so focused I didn't realize that Orm and Maggie were right behind me until I heard my name. I basically just turned around and hugged the first body I found (it was Maggie so it was okay :-) ). I was so happy they were both there. I needed to see as many familar faces as I could that day. (I was really REALLY mad at someone.)
So, I ended up having Maggie, her sister, Orm, and Kerri all help me pick out a new hat. I got a black velvet one with gold trim to go with the "evil school marm" doublet. Since Orm and Maggie knew which outfit that was, that helped a lot.
Kerri and I then went and randomly went around the faire only to stop off and check out Romeo and Juliet at the globe. It was actually pretty good. I was rather impressed by Juliet's preformance. She played Juliet as a believable, whiny, love struck, teenager...which is all Juliet was. :-)
After that, I think we made our way to the White Hart and then did a couple of rounds around faire. :-) I did get a new pair of hairsticks early on. I now have amberish colored dangly hairsticks. Yes, I know. My obession with hairsticks needs to stop at some point...
Just not this year.
We wandered from the White Hart up to the food area and saw Jack Sparrow (Steve) and his girlfriend. I talked to both of them for a white. It was pretty funny because Jack and his lady got into a mini fight over where he got her her ruby ring that I thought was pretty. (It was at the Laurel Mall, they just didn't agree if it was at JC Penny's or at Kay Jewelers.) It was one of those fights that you know who is on the loosing side long before it begins. It doesn't matter who is wrong or right, it's who thinks they are more right. Jack lost.
A little after this is when I think
sestree called me a geek and then laughed....and snorted. :-p Oh yeah, like I'm going to forget that one. :-D
I was starting to get tired (I had been up to 1 or so the night before) so Kerri made sure I got to the gate and I left around 4 or so.
EDIT: I forgot to add I saw the Ravenwolves clan! I was standing in line to get a soda when I heard a familar voice say Hi. It was Midnight Ravenwolf but it took me a second to recognize her. She's grown so much thois past year! She's now a sophmore in High School. So I gave her a great big hug and then saw the rest of the clan. Many hugs and much chatting ensued.
Sunday I ended up wearing my Italian Turkish coat. I should have gotten a picture of it but I didn't. It was very comfortable. I saw
feymaker only a few minutes after I walked in this time. Went down towards the dragon and saw Prax then Lumpy. Hung out there for a few minutes before the lure of the hairsticks called me. I now have some really pretty ones that are aqua with painted pink roses on the beads. I need to wear them this week.....
A lot of people seemed to like the Turkish. I got stopped around 7 or 8 times by people I didn't know (and about 4 times by people I did) asking about it. I've added the pattern to my online documentation.
I got Orange honey from the bee folks, listened to some music, took the pictures, and then hung out at the White Hart for a bit. I then went over to Madame Zenobia's wagon and got a reading. I go to her at least once a season.
I know I played around a bit more, did some window shopping, but I ended up leaving around 4 again. I'll try to stay until at least 6 next weekend. ...particularly on Monday. :-)
