The Robin Hood show was one of the ones that specifically drove us away. Last year they kept making beer jokes, with a "ha, ha, don't worry kids! we make these jokes so you parents will stay awake in the audience!" It wasn't just once or twice, but throughout the whole show. And the worst part is, it was kind of true, even though we were at the 11:00 a.m. showing there were parents in the audience slightly worse for drink and they were the parents brought on stage to be the villains, because it was "funnier." Honestly we would have left if my son wasn't in the show because having my children see middle of the day drunk adults isn't my idea of fun or an appropriate example for my kids. But I also live in a pretty G rated world with my kids, I figure there is plenty of time for them to hear and see the worst things the world has to offer, right now while I can I want to keep them shiny and new for as long as I can.
