Last time I went to Faire (two years ago), it was a disappointment. The three shows we went to were just not very funny. I can appreciate creative bawdy jokes, but they were just using bathroom humor. It just wasn't worth it.
My biggest problem was getting sick from the cigarette smoke hanging everywhere. Ick.
