isabelladangelo: (18th c)

The new stays from the front. I cut off the sides of the front and rebinded (is that a word?) the edges. That helped a lot in making it look better but also, to make sure these fit!

From the side. I suppose this picture is the most telling if they do look like 18th century stays or not. I know the front is curved wrong (since I used it from a different corset that I cut up) but does it look right else where?

EDIT: I started to add the pieces that will make the front look more correct and, for whatever reason, I half feel like leaving it like that and just adding whiskers.... ;-)

I am going to make the front more curved the correct way and see if that helps.

Another EDIT: Because I have to share this pair. I remembered seeing it on ebay a month or so ago (I think). I'm guessing it's a homemade transitional pair (late 18th, early 19th. They figured out the form but not how it was achieved.). Okay, back to piecing my stays and *hope* they look okay.
