isabelladangelo: (fabric colors)

I've been embroidering like mad for my Pennsic display project. I need to get it done. I *think* I will this year. I also finally cut out the Elizabethan Surcote. That was a huge step because I dreaded cutting out that pretty fabric knowing how unique it is/was. The fabric is black velvet with nearly period looking silver embroidery. It's not actual silver but...oh my goodness is it pretty. The sleeves will be lined with a light blue aqua silk and I'm not sure about the actual body yet. I'm thinking the polished green cotton simply because -yes, it's not the least bit period but it will be hidden for the most part. Well see. I do have a ton of thick white and off white linen I could also use.

I went to G Street today and bought a whole bunch of ribbons and trims. The living social deal was awesome. You bout a coupon for $25 and could get $50 worth of goods. I accidentally went over...by $4. :-) Still, I ended up with a lot of ribbon. I'm making a new petticoat for my pink polonaise by Costume Con. I bought more green ribbon to match it. I also bought out their velvet trims. I'd like to make the Italian "unicorn dress" so I got some red velvet trim for that. I also ended up with pink velvet trim because I'm always needing that and a bunch of other trims. Their selection has gone down hill since their move but their attitude has gotten a LOT better. I actually had people help me today and ask me if I needed help. For those that have been to G Street (meaning you normally need to make "G" a day just to buy anything in there), you know what a shock that was to have anyone help.

I need to finish up the Elizabethan Surcote tomorrow, maybe make the petticoat (which won't take long), and sew up my corset. If I get that done, I can also work on the Elizabethan stays too.... So much to do, so little time!
