Dishes are evil!

This caused me to go to the ER this morning.  Stupid evil dishes! 

While I was washing the glass rim, it suddenly broke and  I tore my right hand up pretty badly.  After cursing, grumbling, bleeding everywhere, and getting dressed (I was still in my pjs!), I drove to the ER.  They sent me up to urgent care and got me a room right away.  I had to soak my hand first.  I ended up messaging my poor brother who called right as I was going out the door.  He was calling me to cancel our Lunch plans and I only managed to get out a "Sorry!  Heading to the ER!" which probably sounded worse than it was.  I also had to message Mom because I know she'd try to call during stitches if I didn't do a preemptive strike!  Those were amusing messages.  :-)  She, of course, was freaking out, and I was staring at the right hand since, as the doctor pointed out, it had already started to heal enough that I only needed 7 stitches rather than 10. 

So, now I have 7 stitches in my right hand.  It's annoying because I can't write and I'm not sure if I can cut fabric or not.  I want to sew, darn it!  Stupid dishes!  And yes, this is why no Renn Faire today for me.  Codine and driving don't mix...well.

OWIE! I've been there! Hand wounds are the WORST because they make it so hard to do basic things. Glad it wasn't anything more serious, though. I'll send good thoughts your way!

I made a sling for my arm. The nurse told me that keeping it elevated will help. :-)

Thank you! And it's horribly annoying that it was my right hand ...again. Why can't I jam/injury/scrap up my left hand once in a while?
