Watched Sleepy Hollow, very disappointed

First, lets get into the idea of witchcraft since that seems to be central to this entire Swiss cheese plot line. A)No one was ever burned at the stake in the United States for witchcraft, period. B)No one was executed for witchcraft past 1712. C)All the "witches" - both here and in Europe- were normally just protestants or Catholics. There was one American Indian chief I know of and I'm not sure if he converted or if he refused to convert and therefore was accused. Still, the vast majority of witches were just Christians whose faith was slightly different from the rest of the town's.
In other words, Katrina could not have possible belonged to a coven, she couldn't have been burned for witchcraft in 1786 (seriously? There were other more important things going on...), and what was with her outfit? A black frilly cotton tank top with something kinda looking like a corset/stay hybrid? Um, if she's been trapped in the mirror since the 1780's, wouldn't she, I don't know, be wearing an off white linen smock, tan leather stays, and some sort of petticoat like everyone else did? Fox, please ask your costumer to do their d@%^ homework before designing something. Was it just to make her look like a witch to 21st Century eyes?
And speaking of 21st Century Eyes (Ichabod's outfit wasn't any better by the way but will get to that in a bit), how come he's not completely freaked out by the car when the police officer tells him to get in? And why isn't he motion sick? And what about lightbulbs? I did like the automatic window thing but he seems to be taking the whole "Welcome to the 21st Century" thing in stride. He's reaction seems to be "Huh, that's cool. Carry on!"
Also, the abolition of slavery in New York was completely complicated not just a "Hey, everyone is free now" in 1781 - although they were voting for that then.
Now, let's get to the plot line which is Death has risen from his grave. Okay... problems. First, how did a Bible, caked in mud survive well enough to be handled by Ichabod? Sorry, but if I found something like that in a cave, I know the thing would be falling apart in my hands. Even if you are talking about an anaerobic environment, the Bible itself would still be fragile. And what would a bunch of witches from an "ancient order" want with a Bible anyway? Wouldn't they have their own stories of this evil?
...Which, by the way, given the four horseman are summoned by God - and by some interpretations the first horseman, the conqueror, may in fact be Jesus- it probably doesn't mean they are evil. Actually, they are called forth to destroy those that persecuted the Christians if anyone bothered to read a bit further. Think more along the lines of Passover.
Getting back to the story: The plot line is that Death will herald the other three horseman and that the headless horseman is Death. Bit of a problem if they want to use the Bible as a basis for this since, according to Rev 6: 7-9 Death is the fourth Horseman. The other three are already on the loose!
And then there is the two witnesses thing....I doubt that Ichabod can breath fire and he isn't wearing sackcloth either. I'm not sure what he's wearing - it looked like jeans, a pirate coat, and a dark blue shirt- but it's not late 18th Century either. Basically, Death would not be going after the two witnesses but the people of the Earth would.
So my overall thoughts are that...it's horrible. I was hoping for something really cool - like someone found the head of the horseman and found a way to bring him back to life- but no. And what is with that blood mingling thing? It just doesn't make sense. So much for a show that sounded completely awesome but turns out to be...junk. Seriously, Fox, this is CW stuff!
