isabelladangelo: (mid victorian)

I've been playing with the trims and I'm going to keep it simple. I really love just the bit of contrast on the sleeve. For the rest of the dress, I won't add trim but I *may* add faux buttons on the front. I'm also making a black velvet girdle/belt/sash to go with this dress. I found some great period examples with pockets hidden on them. Wonderful for hiding the cell phone and wallet! I think the contrast of the girdle and the velvet trim on the cuff of the sleeves should be enough for this dress. We'll see!

Once this one is done, I can start on the plaid one. Luckily - and the reason I started with the wool- I figured out all the "kinks" of the pattern so I hopefully won't make the same mistakes.
