First, it looks like the ebay auction I posted has since been changed. It looks like she's stealing bandwidth (from padawansguide no less!) so we'll see how long that lasts....::grumbles something about just taking the picture, saving it, and uploading it on your own::


Second, my beloved truck is acting up. It's 8 years old so I'm starting to think about getting a new one but really can't until next year since I just bought the house. Anyways, it's the reason I'm at home right now...it won't shift out of park! I could start it up (you have to press down on the gas to start the darn thing!) and then...nothing. So I'm going to *look* at other cars right now but I doubt I'll get anything until after Faire season.

Third, since I'm bored, I'm starting on an Elizabethan flat cap out of old scraps of green velvet and green silk. It should be done by Saturday...when the cable guy comes to fix that!

Are you parked on a slight uphill grade? My 1994 Jeep sometimes doesn't like a grade, and won't get out of park.

Nope. It's a perfectly flat parking space. The truck has other "issues" at this point and I just figured it would make more sense to take the darn thing in. (it did get out of park when the tow truck guy tried it so maybe God just didn't want me to go to work this morning?)

Maybe I'll actually get the sci-fi channel back...and my news stations, and USA...::sighs::

I looked and she's not hotlinking to me. I doubt she could anyway - I have hotlinking software, so it won't work unless I allow the domain in my .htaccess file!

I don't care if she uses the pics since they belong to George anyway.

She did leave one Ever After pic in, which kind of cracks me up!

Good to know. :-) It looks like she's cleaned it up a bit more now. Earlier, it was an html nightmare in parts which is why I thought of the hotlinking.

She still mentions that if you "add wings" it would make a perfect ever after....::shakes head::

In slightly silly news, I found some remnants of silk I used on my version of the "Just Breathe" gown...so I'm thinking Miss Ginsie might just get a matching one for Christmas...

I just got a lookie-see at The Tudor Fleet Gown. OMG! I have to have one of those! I absolutely love it! Mine would be in powder blue -- being the ever present Science Geek that I am ... and I do indeed have the lovely broach to place upon the partlet.

It's actually a simple ish pattern for anyone that's done tudor gowns before. I just made a side laced bodice out of red velvet and used black cotton bias tape around the edges. The partlet is after a pattern I got online (I don't remember exactly where but can look it up when I get home) and is just black velvet and muslin. The sleeves are bell sleeves based off the mccalls tudor gown pattern. They were black velvet with red velvet lower sleeve lining and muslin upper sleeve lining. The over skirt is a really simple pleat to the waistband kind out of black velvet with a red velvet piece attached to the hem of the skirt. The under skirt is a gored skirt with some minor pleating. It's silver taffeta.


I wanted to do blue but I look better in pinks and reds. :-) I just want to get some small gold beads to put on the collar of the partlet and really confuse people!

Well, I look better in teals/purples/golds (Classic Fall, what can I say), so the black just isn't going to work for my complexion, but I Don't Care!
