Sewing stuff
Apr. 24th, 2007 09:19 pmI started on my corset. I took apart my two old ones. One was a red satin one with flames (yes, flames) that I bought for $15 on ebay years ago. It had a metal busk and was wearable but that was it. It had been made by a student at a costuming shop. :-)
The other corset was one I made three years ago. I made the waist way too small and never wore the thing but it had all metal boning...wide metal boning. So, I salvaged the boning from both corsets for my new one. That's hwen I found the surprise.
In my red satin corset, almost all the boning was spiral metal boning. Only the busk and the edges were normal metal boning. I thought it was mostly plastic!
Anyways, the pictures ot the torn to shreds corsets:

I've also worked a bit on Miss Ginsie's tabard. I cut out the household badge in black velvet. ;-) She'll have a lovely little outfit for Sapphire.
