isabelladangeloFirst, I apologize if anything looks funny. My eyes are still about half swollen and so I'm mainly typing this from memory and not from sight. Stupid allergies...
Second, Highland River Melee. As many of you Atlantian folk know, last year there were a lot of non-SCAdians at the site as well as us silly people. It's a gorgeous site right in the city park. Yet, the advert for the event said no dogs. So, I listened and didn't bring Miss Ginsie.
I shouldn't have listened. Almost all the non-SCA people that came through our little event had pups...after all, it is a city park! If the event hadn't been an hour away, I would have gone home and brought her.
So this year, it says no dogs again. So this year, Isabella wrote back and asked why. We'll see what the answer is. I pointed out, gently, that it is a city park and that we had non-sca people bringing dogs through so why this restriction on SCA people? My only (semi logical) reasoning I can think of is that they are scared of bad dog owners (ones that don't pick up after the dog, allow the dog to bark at everything, ect) or that the dogs will get "frightened" at all the fighting. If htat is a case, I'll see if they will allow dogs in on a case by case basis. Aka, Dogs that have been to events and have other SCAdians vouche for their behavior.
