Miss Ginsie's Outfit...
May. 9th, 2007 05:17 amI cut it out of some linen I bought a couple of weeks ago. It's nothing more than an oval with space for the neck and head and has a small blue linen collar.
I was cutting out the applique for Spike last night when Miss Ginsie decided she liked her new outfit so far:

So basically, it looks like it will fit her fine. Since it's linen, it should be loose enough for her (I'm praying that the temps stay like they are for the next couple of weeks so she can wear it.)

The tabard without Miss Ginsie on top of it. The collar is navy blue linen. The base is a creamy white linen that I'm going to use for my remake of another gown and chemise later on this month or next.

The close up of Spike. I was going to make him out the same navy blue linen but I thought it was a little too dark for a proper Atlantian. So I went through my scraps and found a small piece of bright blue cotton that is just perfect for Spike. I hand drew a picture of the badge on to a piece of paper, cut that out and then cut out the fabric Spike. I don't think he came out too badly. Most of the mistakes will be hidden beneath all the stitches soon.

My hearldry. :-) I started to embroidery my hearldry on in a lozenge last night during NCIS. I'm using black silk thread for the outline but I'll fill it in with regular old cotton thread for all the colors. I just don't have the time to order red and gold thread and expect this to be done on time. The bottom half of the lozenge is black and white (argent and sable, bendy sinister) so I'm thinking of leaving the argent blank and just filling in the sable with the black silk thread. Any opinions?
