Mom is coming with me on Saturday to the Renn Fest. She *might* even dress up! I made her a green silk dress (15th c) that I hope she'll wear. She wants to come to Pennsic so I need to get her use to garb....

Tomorrow is the last day of evil training! Woohoo!

Wow, you're so lucky :)

...My mom thinks that everything I like is a waste of time and money. I don't think that she'd agree to wear a costume even if it was something as important to me as getting married... I wish that I could share more things with my mother but she's making it impossible for me to do so :(

That's so sad!

My Mom and sometimes even my Dad love going to the Renaissance Festival here. I'll never get Dad to dress up but he will go and have fun watching the various acts. Mom saw some the gowns last year and decided she needed one. And after I've told her about the last two Pennsics? Well, she decided she needed to try upscale camping (she's been Boy & Girl Scout camping).

I'm trying to get my brothers to come as well. I think I might get at least two of the three to come play. The youngest brother (19) is still at that stage where he doesn't really want to be seen with his family (although not nearly as bad as a couple of years ago!). The funny thing is, he's the one with garb! Last year it was a Norse styled tunic so he could be Beowolf for a school project. I'd love to get him on into the SCA but I'm "Sis" and therefore not fun to be around. It doesn't matter that I like all the same things or am dying to see the same movies...I'm family and to a soon not to be teenager? That's bad. :-)

Don't worry about it, he's gonna grow out of it and come around sooner or later :)
