First, I was turning around and the person taking the picture didn't know how to use the camera and well...you get the idea. This is part of what was to be my day of wrong outfit. I have the skirt and the bodice finished, and I'm almost done with the sleeves.
Concept: | Reality: |
Yes, that is the communicator pin. Yes, it's "real". I was trying to go for the "What would the ST:TNG uniform look like if they traveled back to the renaissance". And this is what I came up with. There is a lot more to it than what I'm wearing in the photo. I just have the shirt, bodice, and parlet. I actually I have pictures somewhere of the making of the parlet. It's one of first things I completely hand drafted that has a closed neck. I've been good with wide neckline but ones that should fit around the neck? A wee bit different than the simple straight line, straight line, curve for the arm bodices I'm use to drafting.... Next year, I'm going for the 18th century look I think.... Oh! And I bought a new book on patterns for theatrical costuming....I will be using it a lot soon. |
