Well, I didn't get the gowns I wanted to done this weekend but I did do something productive...I fixed my sewing machine. It has been trying to eat fabric and I figured out why. So, it actually works now and I didn't spend $135 this time. ugh.

I did do some actual sewing. My sister-in-law is 7+ months pregnant and does not have a winter coat that fits her. It hasn't gotten into the "Dear God, It's cold. Make it snow or be warm. Thank you" temperatures yet but I've had a couple mornings of frost. So, last week Mom asked if I could make Jeannie a cape so she'd be nice and cozy.

I went to Wally world and got some forest green fleece and a lovely semi-blackwatch like tartan fleece. The tartan fleece is the lining to the cape. It comes down to the mid thigh on me so that should cover her. The pattern I used makes you look like a football player but it will be warm and she loves green so hopefully she'll like it. It only has one gold frog closure but anymore than that looked funny to me. I also added hand holes so she doesn't have to open the cape every single time she needs to grab something or hand over something. (It drives me crazy when I have my cape on and I have to hand over the CC. I have to open the front of the cape and let in all the cold air which only makes me freeze again. I really need to add hand holes to my cape too...)

I'll take pictures of her wearing it tomorrow.
