My work is giving all of us lovely, wonderful little minions err...employees Blackberries. Oh yes, those very stylish, ultra-geeky, I'm really a professional now I just don't know of what phones. Among the many things I have figured out how do with the phone so far in the two days I have had it...there is one little problem. I can't just dial and call out.

Oh, I can check my work email. I can check my regular email. I can check all 4 of my personal email accounts. I can text (that was fun today! Unlimited texting bwahahaha!). I can play games. I can even search the web, check my blog, and yes, update my webpage all from the safety of the very scary shuttle bus that goes between the various off-sites. But I cannot dial out.

I can voice out. I can listen to music. I can play around with the bluetooth technology. I can fool around on google maps. I can look at pretty pictures on Flickr. But I cannot dial out.

I can update my contacts. I can update my address book. I can write down all the odd ideas I have in my head. I can check the message boards, giggle at Engrish, search for the latest Darwin Award recipient...but I cannot dial out.

I've changed my ring tones. I've changed them for my contacts. I've added pictures for my Mom, Dad, and various friends so I know who it is calling by seeing them. People can call me but I cannot dial out.

I've played the games, surfed the web, and done all sorts of odd things to the phone already. The background is currently of a hurricane as seen from space. My main ringtone is of Bach, fugue in D minor. I've figured out how to change it to "Bring out your dead!" if I want to...but I cannot dial out.

You see, this phone can do everything my computer could do 10 years ago. Well, except print but I'm sure I can figure that one out. However, unless I have the person either already in my contacts and click on their name OR I voice dial, I have yet figure out how to use this thing as a real phone. I tried just dialing and ummm...yeah, that doesn't work. Oh, I'm sure there is a way, I just have yet to figure it out yet. I bet I could reprogram the stupid thing before I can even start to figure out how to dial on it....and I'm sure there are hacks a plenty for tons of fun things to do to the little phone.

So, until I can figure out how to dial, y'all are gonna be getting a LOT of text messages!
