So, I left earlyish this morning because I had to go to my real office this morning for a meeting. That was boring. I don't think I learned anything other than one of my co-workers has a heck of a lot of nieces and nephews and she can't remember the youngest ones name. Really, that was it. Okay, so one of my co-workers gave me a cookie. It was good.
I put up lights in my cubicle at my temp office. A lot of people seems to like the odd pink/purple/silver/blue Christmas lights. (They are Bratz lights that Kitty Kat got for me a couple of years ago. They are so awesome. Now if I can find the Strawberry Shortcake ornaments and an extension cord, I'll be set in my cubicle...) That was about it for the day at work.
After work, I met up with mistressfetch for the Holiday Market that is going on a block outside my temp office. They have lots of yummy things like funnel cake and ginger lattes as well as many pretty things. I bought a couple of pretty things. I'll probably buy more pretty things before the market goes away.
I bought a pair of sapphire like earrings that dangle down and two pretty fairy prints. One is a antique print of the wild rose fairy by Cicely Mary Barker. The other is a lovely hand colored print by the wife of the guy I bought it from. :-) It's a neat mixture of Celtic and mehndi designs.
mistressfetch bought a gorgeous shawl that was so terribly soft. It's dark orangish sand in color with brown floral embroidery around the edges. It went lovely with her outfit and will go great with her bloomer outfit from Moresca. :-) She also bought some prints and things.
After our joint spending spree (I tried to be good but those earrings were to die for and like I'd pass up antique prints of Fairies. Really!), we went to go listen to pyratelady's solo concert. The audio was being broadcasted over the speakers so you could hear her all through the booths at Market. Of course, I think everyone was all a giggle because, once
pyratelady said this was her 3rd time being at the Holiday Market, who other than Steven Colbert gives her the thumbs up.
Yes, mistressfetch and I were standing right there, next to him, when he did it. I burst out laughing and he just smiled and continued to his limo on the other side of the street. It had security. All and all it was amusing. I guess I can add him to the "celeberties I've run into" list now.
After listening to part of the concert (It was cold!), mistressfetch and I ran inside the portrait gallery and both decided we want the blue dress. The blue dress is in a portrait from around the 1860's and it is to die for. It's blue with lace and pearls and is just gorgeous to behold. I want that dress. I have the pearl trim along the top of the lace panel at the bottom. They sold the jewelry at the museum shop. (Yeah, this will be a project in two years.)
After that, we went to a nice Irish pub restaurant and I had some yummy fresh chicken pot pie. It was great and fun. Then we both headed home and I got home a little after 7.
Despite the long day, Miss Ginsie was fine. The house wasn't a total wreck and she didn't get into anything she wasn't supposed to (like the cough drops the other day). She's now happily sleeping on her papasan chair cover that is on the sewing room floor. Why? Because I had to move the papasan so I could put up the Christmas tree! :-)
