So, one of the sleeve backs for the Poe gown I cut out is a bit short. Fine. I went to cut out another sleeve back out of the scraps...without thinking. I pinned the sleeve so that now both the sleeve front and sleeve back have shiny fronts... I want the sleeve back to have a shiny back! So now my options are:
  • just sew up the shorter sleeve. It's a centimeter and with lace you really can't tell.
  • Shorten the other sleeve to match it so it won't bug me. I'll be wearing a shirt underneath the thing anyway.
  • Or take apart the skirt and cut off 18" to make another sleeve....

I'm kinda going with the shorten the other sleeve option at this point because I really don't want to take apart the skirt...again.

I'll sew some more all day tomorrow. The other slight problem I noticed is that the bodice fits me right now...with only my corsette on. It means it's a bit too big (which, of course is better than too small!). I don't know whether to take it in now or wait until the full dress is done and try it on over my real corset and see if it's baggy or not. I kinda want to wait and see because I think it's just that I haven't taken in all the seam allowances yet....

Ack, what a drag. I'd sew the shorter sleeve and cover with lace. Lace covers a multitude of sins. ;-)

I've leanred the hard way not to sew when I'm too tired. Nothing more taxing than hemming at least.
