Poe Dress Update

Well...it's interesting. I think I might have to hand sew the front of the bodice to get the pleats exactly right. Which is fine. The rest of the dress is done to the point that, once I sew the pleats on the front of the bodice, it shouldn't take more than a half hour to finish.
The front of the bodice is just giving me problems though. I tried pinning the pleats and machine sewing them and ummm...no. I'm going to take those out and just take a few hours tomorrow to sew the thing while watching a movie. Maybe Jane Eyre?
I did try to put my hair up last night the way I want and it really looked awesome. I'm going to have to make sure my hair is perfectly straight before the event to get the desired look but it will work which is far better than the bodice right now. And yes, the hair fits under the hat which is the most important part. :-) I might make a bonnet as well but right now? The bodice it the top priority.
I'm going to Joanns in a few minutes to pick up some cotton for the shirt. The underskirts are done. The coat is cut out but that's about it. It shouldn't be too hard to sew up since I've done similar coats in the past. I probably won't be able to do the cording I wanted to on it though. I'll just stick with the original lace idea.
If the bodice takes too long and I can't get to the coat, I do have a cape (or three) that I can use. I also have how many shawls? :-) So, focusing on the bodice and then worry about everything else.
