I'm seriously considering attempting to recreate this 18th c gown. The 10 yards of pink silk I just bought are almost a perfect match in terms of color. I have the hat and I can make an apron and fichu to go with the gown.... Basically, I have the materials, it's matter of do I really want to use the pretty pink silk on this?

I know I have at least three projects before Pennsic that MUST be done and five more that I'd like to get done. I'd like to have the 18th c dress done before May but I might want to do one out of a cheaper material first just to make sure I have some idea of what I'm doing. That would mean adding on two projects to the list when I have those that must be done.

One of the projects that needs to get done is the Catherine Parr gown. I have the real fur (it's a cutter coat lot) and the lovely linen damask. I've had the forepart fabric for a while. Hopefully, I'll get it together before late July but I'm not all sure with having to make Mom's outfits as well. hmmm...

:-) It is. I think that it's probably a good "starting point" type gown because it's simple in desing but has some lovely sheer elements.

Thanks! I'll start on it by the end of Feb. I want to get the corset done first so I know what size to make.
