If you go to yahoo.com and do an image search on Maryland Renaissance festival I'm the person in the second picture to pop up! I think I'll wear that dress this weekend....

even if you are just joking. My great Aunts and cousins come down from Western NY about once a year. A couple of years ago, My Great Aunt Angie and a few of the cousins came down to DC and my Dad was taking them on a tour of the Lincoln memorial. Teasing my Aunt Angie is always a big fun thing to do in our family cause she's so funny! So, my dad began to tell her and the cousins about the history of the statue of Lincoln.
He said that the person whom carved it was secretly a southren sympathizer and carved the face of Robert E Lee on the back of Lincoln's head. That's why the back wall is so close to the back of the head; so no one can see the face of Robert E. Lee!
Well, my cousins and Aunt bought it...but so did everyone else in hearing distance. People were suddenly lining up to take pictures of the BACK of Lincoln's head even a half hour later as my family left! The story got passed around very quickly. :)

Well, I just did a quick google search about the story just to see how many people bought it and possibly posted pictures of the back of the head....apparently, TOO many! It's in wikipedia!

and even in the tourist guide!

So to anyone out there that really thought Robert E. Lee's face was on the back of Lincoln's head; it was just a prank my Dad was pulling on my Aunt. Nothing more.

NEW YORK (AP) - The Sci Fi Channel has pulled the plug on "Stargate SG-1," but there still might be life ahead for the long-running series.

MGM, which produces the show, is hoping to dock it on another channel.

"We do have plans," MGM spokesman Jeff Pryor told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "This is not the end of the 'Stargate' franchise. This is just the end of ('Stargate SG-1') airing on the Sci Fi Channel."

Earlier this week, Sci Fi announced it would not order further episodes of the show, now in its 10th season. The cable channel, however, has booked a fourth season of "Stargate: Atlantis," a spin-off that debuted in 2004.

The final 10 episodes of "Stargate SG-1," which logged its 200th episode Friday, will air next year on Sci Fi, Maureen Granados, a spokeswoman for the channel, told the AP on Wednesday.

Beyond that, MGM believes "in this new media world there are many more opportunities to continue (the) franchise," Pryor said. "We're exploring those possibilities."

The show, inspired by the 1994 movie starring Kurt Russell as an intergalactic traveler, has a devoted fan base.

"Even though there's been a slight dip in the ratings, there are still nearly two million homes tuning in a week," and up to about 10 conventions held each year, Pryor said.

They can't! I won't let them! SG-1 must continue...I mean at least until Sammy and Jackie get married, right?
