So I called Mom today and told her I needed to fit her for the dress only to find out she now says she's coming only two or three days and not six. While this is a good thing from the sewing perspective I am a bit upset given that I was trying to plan around making all her garb. Oh well, I'm almost done with her last chemise. Then, all I have to do is sew up the green linen kirtle and finish my gown as well and that's it for Pennsic sewing. So much for Pennsic Panic...
I'm thinking, for the fall, a new outfit for Ginsie. The
Elizabethan Doublet on that page gave me ideas...many, many ideas. Personally, I find the Dicken's coat on that completely adorable and might try that too. Who cares if it's 19th c? It's on the dog....(Okay, so that might get reserved for Halloween only and not SCA events)
I might make another early italian out of pink linen given that I have time now. I'll see how I'm doing tomorrow. So far, I've gotten a good amount done but that's because I thought I was in a rush! I still need to re-do the 1560's Venetian and the 1490's Florentine but either of those won't take long. I might try those tomorrow. The pink linen skirt only needs a new snap and the gothic fitted gown just needs the buttons moved over. Either of those I can do at Pennsic if I get lazy enough. :-) I might also try to re do the 1550's Venetian that needs to be repleated. The hard one with that is taking it apart, not the re-sewing.
So, yes, still stuff to do. Just not nearly as much as I thought!
