So after being jabbed with a sewing needle when I woke up (I'm not kidding) I figured that was God's way of telling me "You should actually sew today". So...I went antiquing. Hey! I got Seam binding tape! And the cutest little 1950's turquoise apron with pink stripes at the bottom. It's adorable.

Anyway, I did cut out my stays. The lining is that modern black and white jacquard print. The facing is the yellow. I plan on using black bias tape around the edges and using black thread for the channels.

As for the dress, I'm considering many possibilities at this point. I keep going between various 1760's styles and various 1790's styles. I have what once was a lovely 1790's gown bodice upstairs that I could use to create a pattern (someone, at some point, cut the skirt off. The bodice itself is intact.) Maybe a redingote? I have some black wool that would work. Of course, I already started on a 1760's gown out of the pink silk a long time ago so I probably should finish that....
