Post Pennsic Revel
Aug. 21st, 2010 10:02 pmIt was a lot of fun. I ended up not waking up until noon today (I tried to wake up at 7 and that just...yeah, no. I needed rest, badly!) so I didn't make anything to eat or wear. I ended up just wearing my Viking dress which a lot of people seemed to like. I had a bunch of people come up and tell me how cute I looked. ...I look like Pocahontas goes Norse. It's all about the braids.
Anyway, there was a lot of food and I helped with the yard sale in the back. There was a ton of fabric, garb, and books to be sold in support of raising money for fighter practice. We ended up with about $500 and only three crates compared to the six that were brought in plus random items that people (such as myself) would drop off. I bought some lovely cotton velvet (kirtle, I think), more embroidered cotton (Edwardian tea dress?), and a gray velvet want to be Spanish surcote (it's not finished and I need to take it in). I also got a lot of plastic boning and buttons. I'm thinking maybe trying a pair of stays with the plastic boning....
No pictures but there was a lot of great food and stories.
