Sewing Update
Dec. 1st, 2010 07:23 amIn totally unrelated news: I've started work on my mock up for my Christmas dress last night. The ladies at Joann's LOVED the colors I chose for it. I have cream flannel-backed satin for the Pelisse lining, cream dupioni silk for the dress, and red ribbons for the trim. Very Christmasy but still cute enough to wear at other times in the year.
I'm trying the mockup on over my red silk stays and I might have to redo the neckline a bit. The upper shoulders and the back don't cover the stays straps. It's not a big deal but I will have to waste a bit more muslin. Then I have to make the short chemise to go under all of this as well... This Sunday should be fun working on all of this.
Saturday, it's taking the nephews to go see Santa on a TRAIN. Marxer LOVES trains. He adores them. I really can't wait to see his face when he, his parents, my parents, myself, and maybe another brother all go to see Santa. ;-)
EDIT: In case anyone saw my rant about Amazon. Whoops! Turns out they do have a rather nice Merry Christmas option but you have to click on the gift cards to see it. :-) I think I need to start drinking coffee....too bad I'm allergic.
