Sewing Update
Jul. 25th, 2011 09:56 amI started one dress I cut out a very long time ago (an every day knit wrap gown that is my own design) and realized I made it to wear in the winter. I sewed it up enough that it's assembled but still needs hemming, edging, ect.
I did finish this one cute dress I'll take to Vegas. It some of that pre-smocked/strechy stuff you make sundresses with that they sell at Joanns and Walmart. I bought it last year and it's a lovely sheer gray with a pink smocked top. I added some (poly) pink satin beneath it and the dress comes to right below my knees. It's terribly cute but simple.
I started to work on another Vegas bound dress but realized I can't find a single one of my tape measures (they run away) so that will be done up today. I just need to cut out the skirt -the bodice is done.
I re did my turquoise silk 1510's Venetian dress. The skirt to it got entangled with a red sock at some point and had to be taken away. Luckily, it's the Joann's silk so I had bought four yards of it a while ago, planning on redoing the dress. I finished up the skirt, attached it to the bodice, and just need to finish up the insides. If it comes to it, I can do that at Pennsic. It won't take more than 20 minutes which should be enough time for me to wake up in the morning. :-)
I would like to make one more red Italian dress for Pennsic -I probably can start that tonight- and that will probably be it for "new" stuff. Everything else I need to sew is either old repairs or stuff I've already started. I do need to make a coral necklace and attach the coral beads to my faux turtle brooches. Maybe I'll do that tonight as well since that shouldn't take long. I would like to make a red apron as well -hopefully I have enough in the scrap pile to make a new one.
