So, Sunday I was not exactly happy. For one thing, It was Mommy's Day and my Mommy is down on the Outer Banks. So, not spending Mommy's Day with Mommy was slightly depressing. And then there was the dissappointing yard sale on Saturday. And the fact I hadn't heard from a few people in close to a week by that point.... It was just generally a blah day.
Yesterday, I heard from almost everyone. (Squee!) I was so happy to hear from my SIL, Anton, Mom, and a bunch of friends. It really made my day. I also had a good dream Sunday night/Monday morning so that probably helped a lot.
I went to see my SIL yeseterday and my nephew. Jeannie was so cute! She wanted to show myself and Lee (my oldest little brother) everything in her basement apartment. It's really very nice. It's just a one bedroom but it works for Randy and Jeannie.
Lee and I played with Marxer for a while. Jeannie loves the trim I found for the veil and id she trusted me when it came to the fabric. I'm thinking maybe a sheer silk or english net...I don't know yet. I'll keep looking for the week.
I didn't get home until 10 or so, so the only sewing I got done was the inner trim/embroidery/whatever you want to call it for the bodice of the Eleanor gown. I corrected the placement because, from what I've seen of the other Italian dresses around that time and the Spanish dresses, the trim just went in a straight line from the straps to either side of the waist and didn't come to any sort of point or get turned around the waistline. It just terminated at the waist one either side.
I did learn that drawing the design with pencil first is a bright idea. Follow the pencil, not the fabric. It works.
I did buy Dad his father's day gift. He might actually read this so I'll just say he'll love it. I'm trying to get my brothers to buy the other thing I saw at the store that he'll love.
