Does anyone know of anyone in the DC area that oculd get my hairbriaded by Saturday morning for the wedding? OR does anyone know of a good hair salon in DC that works well with long hair?

Don't know if they could do it on "superfine white girl hair", but there is an African Hair braiding place in the Greenbelt mall up from your house. It's down near the Kay Jeweler's place.

Would be worth asking at least.

My hair is pretty thick for a white girl but I doubt they'll do my hair. Thanks though! I might just check here at work to see if I can get it done tomorrow afternoon...or see if the teaching place still allows walk ins...hmmm...

How specifically do you want it braided? Does it have to be through a salon?

Nope, doesn't need to be through a salon. I was thinking maybe like the braids at the Renaissance Festival (or something close to that). If all else fails, I'll just go Gibson Girl with hairsticks and framing curls.

I get my hair done at St. Germain in Penn Quarter, and both Terry and Odie there come highly recommended for a cut. I've seen many long-haired women come in (although mine's not that long any more) for cuts, and I'm sure they could work with you on an updo... I recommend you call first and ask who they'd recommend for what you want. 202 824 0444
