You see, since the idiots got rid of all our streaming capabilities (::grumble grumble::), we've all been forced to listen to real radio. Well, our office manager has her radio on all the time. It's not loud, it's just that my office is right next to her's and all the walls do is provide privacy for when you are reading Engrish...although everyone can still hear you laughing hysterically... anyway, back to the point of this post.
She has it on the oldies station here in DC, 100.3 The station is bad, per se, but it is getting annoying. I can guarantee I will hear Pinball Wizard before 1:10 today. They play it every single day around lunch time. I will also hear something by Supertramp and another Jimmy Buffet song before 3. Not that I don't love either of those. The Logical Song has been one of my favorites forever and, as for Mr. Buffet, well, just take a look at the subtitle of my blog and my friend's page.
However, I can only take so much of the same songs over and over....well, except for the Peanut Butter Jelly song. That is just fun. But the fact I can probably make a drinking game of the playlist for this radio station? It's just sad...partly because we aren't allowed to alcoholic drinks during working hours.
I want some variety in songs! Before we had the evil people in the back corner take away streaming, I had my launchcast and it was perfect. I've been thinking of finally breaking down and getting an iPod but I need to find out what the requirements are for the office (I just remember they are really weird. Not that I really think anyone would care but I don't want someone to get all mad one day and decide "But she has her iPod! Why don't you go after her?") I might just bring in a few CDs for now but it still presents the "no variety, same songs all the time" problem.
