Okay so this is the peacock gown. I wore it to the Bright Hills event on Saturday. So why am I attempting to walk up hill in my gown in the snow? Because by the time I ran out of the event (around 4 ish, there was three inches of snow on the ground where I was! (Hence why I just grabbed my stuff and left)
I had entered my black velvet Italian garb into a competition. I haven't figured out who won the competition or how well I did or really anything about it other than I got three token out of it so that's good! After all, It was my first competition in the SCA. :-)
So, this upcoming week, it's all about beading. I'm going to make a late 15th c necklace and maybe a hat and a purse for the event in Leesburg, VA. I have an idea of what I want to do, and the paintings to back me up.
In other news, I'm annoying people over on the Italian Renaissance group on Yahoo. It seems everyone wants to "prove" how smart they are to the "newbie". I just meant I was new to the group, not to costuming! Oh well, hopefully I polietly set 'em straight. Yeah...like the pink corset thingy I had up here a couple of weeks ago is a "shawl"...right...and since when have there been fringed shawls in the 16th century? (I was a lot nicer than that....'cause i'd love it if someone found a linen fringed shawl during the time period...)
