I cut out the bodice for the Irish Dress I'm supposed to be making. I also cut out the chemise to go with it. I'm taking my sewing machine with me to the beach house so I can work on it down there.

I'm also taking a few of my gowns with me to the beach house to take pictures of while I'm down there. (The beach house is in Southern Shores, NC) I figured the back drop of the beach would look really nice for a few of them and I need to update a lot of the photos for stuff.

I made a cute skirt the other day. It doesn't look cute when you are just holding it up but I put it on and it's adorable. It looks very psuedo-1950's. It's out of this jacquard taffeta I got from Joann's earlier this year that I really wanted to make a couple of skirts out of. So, I finally got around to making one! I'm wearing it today to the Thanksgiving Party over at Randy & Jeannie's.

I did buy my first Christmas gift the other day. It's a cute metal book mark that has beads hanging down and a small treble clef. My oldest little brother's girlfriend is a music teacher and loves books so I thought of her the second I saw it.

So, I stayed over at my parent's last night (again) because, well, it's Thanksgiving! Staying, again, tonight to go shopping at 4 am. :-) Even Dad is coming on this shopping trip so this should be amusing. Then it's just me and my parent's to NC. Joey couldn't get off work and Lee has to pick up Larisa at the airport on Saturday. But that's fine. It just means Dad will have to deal with Mom and me shopping...constantly shopping. :-)

Knitting news: The scarf I was making is done. Mom took it. She really liked the colors of it. It's a grey background yarn with a lot of blue but it also has green and red and a few other colors mixed in. I thought it looked masculine when I first started knitting it but it ended up looking more "gender neutral" to feminine. Doesn't matter. Mom took it and she loves it.

I'm back to working on my blanket. I'm on my fourth skein for this thing. So far, I've done all hand spun/wheel spun wool skeins and I think I want to keep it that way. The wool I just worked with was hand spun by a little girl who was still learning the hand spindle. So the yarn is really thick in places and very thin in others but it looks kind of neat all knitted up and the colors are really amusing put all together. The yarns I'm using are all so variation of turquoise, pink, and/or purple. I have a bit of my own spindle spun turquoise wool left that I want to use for this very much piece-worked blanket.

In other, totally random, news: The only reason I am awake is because Shiloh, Mom's dog, is evil. He decided to wake ME up to let him out and feed him. Great. I heard scratching on the door and thought it was Ginsie, so I jumped up and looked around to see...Miss Ginsie's face looking right back at mine like "We're getting up? Yes?" I tried to ignore it but no. Shiloh had to wake me up. ::grumble::

Oh well, Macy's Day parade will be on soon and someone in this house has to critique the floats/balloons! ;-)
