It's Saturday!

isabelladangeloI woke up and quickly finished three eyelets and a chemise with purple ribbons....while still in my pj's. I had to send the dress out today. So I did put on normal-ish clothing before going to the Post Office. I just wanted to use the auto mailer so I didn't think it would take too long. I got to the Post Office at 11:40. I got out at 12:15. The lady in front of me didn't understand that the reason the screen wasn't changing was because you need five numbers for a zip code and not four. I think it was just holiday rush syndrome so I quietly told her that she needed one more number. She got it after that. It took me all of a minute to get a stamp and throw the flat rate box into the big bin and run out.
Poor Kat had just gotten to the mall when I had just gotten to the post office! I did make it and we had yummy yummy cheesecake. (Last night was lobsters, today was cheesecake...I can't wait to see what I get to eat tomorrow. :-) ) We walked around for a bit and I got suckered into one of those mall booths. The lady really wanted to play with my hair. I ended up buying a curling iron from her for what it looks like most of them are going for on ebay. I haggled. I've been thinking of getting a huge box of curlers because I don't like the heat that most curling irons use. This one is hot but not burning hot to the touch. I'd guess it's about 100 or just under that. Basically, it won't burn my hair which is what I want to begin with. Yeah, it's still a bit much for a curling iron but it's not bad.
After that, Kat and I decided to go to the movies. We saw The Day the Earth Stood Still. The plot line for the original is MUCH better but the acting, cinematography, costuming, special effects (even giving the fact that the original is from the 60's..), was all 1000% better. If they kept the original plot line, this would have been an awesome blockbuster. As it is, it's not bad. You get to watch Keanu Reeves walk around in a suit for an hour and a half which is all good. :-)
So, next on the sewing list is my brother and his wife's quilt. Then the 12th night dress. I probably will finish up both in the next week.
Mom is past the meadow scene in Twilight. It was rather amusing: "I get it! Sparkling vampires!" "Oh, you are past the meadow scene now?" "....yeah."
